Why social media for your business, you ask?
The answer is simple. Social media is where people hang out. It’s where friends and relatives share their experiences, make recommendations and give their “likes” and “thumbs up.”
Be there in the right capacity, and they will be sharing your brand. Word of mouth reigns online.
Let’s just look at the numbers.
- Facebook – #2 website in New Zealand with over 2 million Kiwi members (800 million globally – see demographics)
- youtube – #4 website in NZ with over 2 billion videos viewed daily, 63% of web usage spent on video (see demographics)
- twitter – #12 website in NZ with over 200 million worldwide members (see demographics)
- LinkedIn – #13 website in NZ with over 479,000 Kiwi members (100 million globally – see demographics)
So, I hope that answers the question “why social media?”
